Ruth Waltman Metzler, 89

Ruth Waltman Metzler, 89, dearly loved wife of Robert Metzler for 68 years passed away on July 16, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy, PA. Ruth was a devoted homemaker who was happiest when surrounded by her family. Ruth will be fondly remembered by family and friends for the many holiday and family celebrations she and Bob hosted at their home.
Ruth and her husband were loving parents of three daughters, Barbara Rial, wife of Frederick Rial, Lexington, KY; Jacalyn Metzler, Philadelphia; and Suzanne Lehman, wife of Bryan Lehman, Lancaster.
Ruth is also survived by two grandchildren, Stacey Gudeman, wife of Tanner Gudeman, Lexington, KY; and Dr. Kiersten Hartlage, wife of Dr. Matthew Hartlage, Tampa, FL. Ruth also had five great grandchildren, Tag, Huttson & Grayson Gudeman and Eliza and Jack Hartlage. Also surviving is brother, Robert Beck, husband of Ethel Beck, Leola. She was preceded in death by siblings Helen Russell, wife of Frank Russell, Lancaster; Mary Fry, wife of Edward Fry, Willow Street, PA; and Frederick Waltman, husband of Kathleen Waltman, Lancaster.
