Ruth Iva Steinbaecher, 78
Ruth Iva (Rinier) Steinbaecher, 78, of Manor Township, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2012. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harry J. Steinbaecher in 1987, along with seven brothers and three sisters.
Ruth was born February 11, 1934 in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Charles Alfred and Ruth (May) Rinier.
Ruth worked at Anderson Pretzel Bakery and Steinbaecher’s Hotel of Cabbage Hill. She was a great homemaker, loved to cook, and took pride in her family. She loved her farm, the goose, her dogs, enjoyed going to yard sales and helping anyone in need, but most of all she loved her family. She donated generously to many causes and organizations; St. John Neumann Guild was her favorite. At the time of her passing, she was residing at Brereton Manor, Washington Boro, where she received excellent care from the staff at Brereton Manor and Hospice of Lancaster County.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Harry (Lisa Kling) Steinbaecher of Orwigsburg, Debby (Larry) Moore, of Quarryville, Michael (Sue Pixley) Steinbaecher, of Brownstown, Margaret (Delbert) Jordan, of York, Scott (Kathy) Steinbaecher, of Wrightsville, two sisters, Florence Smith, of Lancaster, Frances Sigman, of New Providence, three sister-in-laws, Pat Steinbaecher, of Washington Boro, Nola Rinier, of Bainbridge, and Helen Wood, of Lancaster, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10AM at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. There will be a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 441 N. George St. Millersville, PA. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604 or Human League of Lancaster, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602. Dear Harry,Deb,Mike,Marge,Scott, and Families,
On tuesday night after we left the viewing we went to eat at the Barn Door. We talked about seeing you guys again and that we were sad of the circumstances but we remembered all the fun we had at the Farm and how it was there that Bill and I met. Your Mom and Dad were so cool to put up with us kids and all of our craziness. We will always remember them. You are all in our thoughts and prayers,
Love
