Ruth Ann Pickard, 67

Ruth Ann Pickard, 67, of East Hempfield, Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday, December 03, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. She was born in Wilkes-Barre to the late Leonard and Dorothy (Davis) Klem.

Ruth is survived by her husband Fred F. Pickard.

Ruth was employed with Prudential Home Sale Services and its former entities in Lancaster for over 20 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church on Cabbage Hill.

She enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and family, traveling, and decorating. Ruth was a member of Coterie.

Surviving in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Kimberly G., wife of Todd E. Polson, of San Antonio, TX, three step sons, Fred F. Pickard, Jr., husband of Nancy, of Boston, Daniel Pickard, husband of Celeste, of Burke, VA, Joseph Pickard, husband of Allison, of Millersville, MD, six grandchildren, a sister, Gail Klem Slater, and a brother, Leonard “Lenny” Klem. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Andrassy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 12noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church 440 St. Joseph St. Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Msgr Thomas Smith as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 11-12noon. Final farewell and commendation will be in the St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Dr. PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604 or to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
