Rose Marie C. Laukhuff, 85

Rose Marie C. Laukhuff, 85, of Millersville, PA formerly of Willow Street and Cabbage Hill passed away peacefully at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on December 11, 2008. She was born in Lancaster, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles P. Forberger, Mabel (Hegener) Draude and Carl H. Draude. She was the wife of Donald L. Laukhuff who passed away in 1998 after 55 years of marriage.

Rose Marie was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She attended Lancaster Catholic High School.

Rose Marie was an Inspector for RCA for 33 years. She also worked at Hamilton Watch in the 1940’s during WWII.

Rose Marie enjoyed playing cards, traveling, vacationing to Myrtle Beach, and spending time with her entire family.

Rose Marie is survived by five children; son Gerald husband of Barbara Laukhuff of Mt. Joy, son Roderick husband of Ann Laukhuff of Lancaster, daughter Donna wife of Charles Thourot of Willow Street, daughter Carol wife of Timothy King of Landisville, daughter Lisa Poplar companion of James Simmons of New Providence, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Josephine Kingree wife of Thomas of New Jersey, sister Geraldine Meiskey wife of Jay of Millersville, sister Genevieve Krause wife of Robert of Millersville, brother Carl H. Draude Jr. husband of Jean, of Lancaster, Eugene Draude husband of Margaret “Peg” of Lancaster, and brother John Draude husband of Rose of California.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on Monday December 15, 2008 at 10am with Rev. Mark Weiss as Celebrant. Relatives and friends can pay respects from 9-10am at the church. Final farewell and commendation will take place from St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rose Marie’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr. PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604. Charles F.
