Roger D. Stafford, 66

March 21, 2013

Roger D. Stafford, 66, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Mennonite Home, Lancaster.

Born in Detroit, MI, he was the husband of Karen (Imperati) Stafford of Brownstown, and the late J.V. and Eunice (Yates) Stafford.

Roger was a Marine veteran, and a former member of the New Holland Rifle Club.  He was a graduate of Sienna Heights College in Michigan.

He was employed for a number of years as an electrical engineer for Ford Motor Company and New Holland North America.

Roger was a family man who was immensely proud and protective of his family.  He loved his wife dearly, and much to her delight enjoyed cooking and grilling.  He was very creative, and had just started to learn photography in his retirement.  He was an avid fisherman and animal lover, especially dogs.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa May of Brownstown; a son, Shawn Stafford and his wife Katie of Austin, TX; two grandchildren:  Cooper and Carter May of Brownstown; a brother, Richard Stafford and his wife Judith of Clarkston, MI; a brother-in-law, Ronald Imperati of Livonia, MI, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Karen and family,

May God be with you at this time.  Know that you are in my prayers.  I met Roger when I was working at Rothsville Family Practice with Karen, and I remember him always smiling and very proud of his family.

Jacki Ryan

I am very sorry for the loss of this fine man from this, our humble earth. I recall a time when he came to our house when our son Luke was much younger. It was close to Halloween and we carved some really cool Jack-O-Lanterns for our front door. Roger was really good at that. Of course he was really good at a lot of different things. He was a great co-worker and friend of mine at Ford New Holland, now Case New Holland. I have very fond memories of him in our group. He took his job very seriously and even more so, his family. He spoke often and lovingly of his wife Karen along with his two children Shawn and Lisa. It is with a heavy heart that I regret not having stayed in touch with him as he lived so close by. And I further regret that I cannot make the service.
Pease be with you Roger….
Respect and Regards,
Bruce Hadley

To Roger’s family we send our deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. We were co-workers of his at New Holland for a long time and we know he will be greatly missed.
