Robin J. Swiontek
December 30, 2016
Robin J. Swiontek, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Pine Bluff, AR, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Jane A. (Stahl) Swiontek.
Of the Lutheran faith, Robin was employed as the Unit Secretary for the ICU Department at Lancaster General Hospital for 25 years.
She enjoyed photography, crafts, gardening, and decorating her home, but she loved to go shopping. She would spend hours searching for the perfect gift for anyone special to her.
For those who knew Robin, they understood that she didn’t consider herself to be stubborn. She just knew that her way was better, and for that we loved her and will miss her each and every day.
Robin is survived by her brothers Scott Swiontek and his wife Ann of Avon, IN and Todd Swiontek and his wife Vickie of Lancaster. She was a devoted aunt to her 2 nieces Katie and Amy, and to her nephew Matt.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private for the family.
Robin’s family would like to thank the ICU staff at LGH for the kindness and loving care of Robin during her final days of life.
Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions in Robin’s memory may be made to Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, 2102 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.

It was so sad to read about Robin’s death in the prime of life. I am a longtime employee; and, although I didn’t know Robin very well (she worked in ICU, and I work in PACU), I would see her when we took a patient there from the recovery room or when I would drop something off at the desk. She was always so nice and pleasant to me. You have my sincere sympathy.

Dear family, I met Robin about 20 years ago when we both worked at LGH in the ICU. We used to go to the beach every year. We had so much fun back then. Her birthday and mine are very close together so we always tried to be the first one to send a card! Usually I lost and sometimes forget but Robin never did! I have heard so many great things about her parents and family and I am so sorry for your loss. Jennifer Horst
