Robert R. Frailey

Robert R. Frailey passed away 7 September 2012.   He was 81 years old.  Born 28 June 1931 in Lancaster PA, he was the son of Henry E. and Francis Gordon Frailey.

Robert was a graduate of Millersville State Teachers College, class of 1953. He served with the Army Security Service in the Pentagon and American Embassy, Bonn, West Germany; and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.  In 1992 he retired from Warner Lambert as Purchasing Manager, Consumer Health Products Group, after 36 years of service at Lititz PA and Morris Plains NJ. He was a past-president of several business associations and a member of Toastmasters International. He was a Republican committeeman and a past-president of the Wheatland Fire Company in Lancaster Township.

Robert had already lost his wife L. Marilyn Thompson Frailey, brothers James and Edward, and half-sisters Dorothy Flynn and Kathleen Frailey (Sister Mary Daniel, S R) as they passed away. He is survived by his son, Mike, husband of Barbara; a daughter, Cindy, wife of Bill Keil; and a brother, Henry.

As many of you know, Bob also suffered from, and never overcame, a near-lifelong addiction to golf.  When he reached the point where he couldn’t stop, even in winter, his family lost all hope; and if you drive past Overlook in January, and look over your shoulder, you may well see a few surviving members of his support-group out there, whacking little balls around on the frozen ground.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or any truly helpful cause.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.
