Robert C. Rottmund, 94, of Lancaster, PA passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt Joy, PA. He was the husband of Mary M. (Treier) Rottmund to whom he was married for 72 years.
Born in Lancaster, PA he was a son of the late Peter and Mary E. (Freund) Rottmund. Bob was a 1939 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and was a Captain with the Lancaster City Fire Department for 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, Life member of VFW Post 7294 in Millersville, American Legion Post 34 and Moose Lodge 299 both in Lancaster, Lancaster Co. Fireman’s Association and proudly served in the US Army during WWII and Korea. Bob was a car enthusiast and was a deeply devoted and caring husband to his wife Mary.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Treier and three brothers Peter, Edward and Leon Rottmund.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11AM from St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike Lancaster, PA 17603 with Fr. Larry Sherdel as celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. A viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass at the Church.

It was a pleasure to work with you.   I appreciate your patience in teaching me to drive stick on fire trucks.  Especially the time I handed you the shifter after it came lose in my hand.  I still have it after you gave it to me when you retired.
