May 09, 2014

Richard “Rick” F. Stover, 66, of Lancaster, died suddenly Friday, May 9, 2014 in his residence.

Rick was employed as a maintenance machinist for Pfizer for 29 years until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of Moose Lodge #2117, Palmetto, FL.

Of the Methodist faith, Rick was a man who was young at heart and loved a good laugh, the outdoors, and his hot rod. He was always doing for others, and he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. Rick and Judy enjoyed traveling and spending time at their vacation home in Florida. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by a daughter, Tammy Snavely of Lititz; a son, Jeffrey Richard Stover and his wife Mandy of Conestoga; 4 grandchildren: Meghan, Kelsey, Jordan, and Elizabeth; 2 sisters: Kathleen Stanley of Millersville and Gail Diviney of Philipsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Kelley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 16, 2014 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.

I was a high school classmate of Ricks and am truly saddened to hear of his passing.I have good memories of sitting next to him in some classes at good old POAHS. He sure had a great sense of humor & was a terrific guy as well.
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to his wife and entire family. My prayers are for all of you to feel the loving arms of God and be comforted in your time of sorrow.
Sincerely and in sympathy,
Ruthanne(Richmond) Guyer
