Rex D. Bowman, 89

Rex D. Bowman, 89 of Lancaster passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hamilton Arms. Born in Chattanooga, TN he was the son of the late Jasper and Mary (Royer) Bowman. His wife Liz (Marabella) passed away in 1990.
He worked as a civilian contractor for the Merchant Marines stationed in Korea and England and while there collected beautiful artifacts.
Rex proudly served in the US Navy/Merchant Marines that spanned from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the first Persian Gulf War.
He enjoyed walking with his dog Milo through old cemeteries and through Silver Mine Park in Pequea Township.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa M., wife of Howard McCrory of New Providence, two grandchildren, Peter McCrory husband of Adrienne of St. Louis, MO, Jason McCrory husband Lauren of Quarryville and one great-grandchild, Liam. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:30PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rex’s memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Knew Rex from visiting during the Silver Mine days while home on leave. Then, after when he came back to stay…many chats in Silver Mine Park with Milo. Rest in peace my friend.
