Phyllis M. Shope, 84

Phyllis M. Shope, 84, of Lancaster, PA. passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy.
She was the wife of the late LeRoy A. Shope who passed away in 1986. Born in York, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert C. Nagle and Thressa F. Althouff Benner.

Phyllis had worked in the finance and accounting dept. for Hess Home Builders for 18 years.

An active member of Willow Street United Church of Christ, Phyllis was a greeter, a member of the prayer chain and a former treasurer and church consistory member. She enjoyed traveling, loved her dog Sandy, and loved to spend time with her family. She was well known for her great cooking and liked crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her children: Denise “Dee” R. married to Robert Spayd of Millersville, Lori A. married to Carl R. Styer and Keith R. married to Margaret Shope, both of Lancaster; her 4 grandchildren Nicole, Nathan, Travis, and Lauren and her 6 great grandchildren Page, Nathan, Hayden, Owen, Bentley, and Cora. She is also survived by her half brother, Bobby Nagle of California and her half sister Pamela Connor of Sarasota, FL.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 10-11AM at Willow Street United Church of Christ, 2723 Willow Street Pike North, Willow Street, PA 17584, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM, the Rev Ron Bohannon officiating. Interment at 115PM at the mausoleum at Conestoga Memorial Park. 95 Second Lock Rd., Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Phyllis’ memory to Willow Street UCC at the above address.

Dee, Lori, and Keith,
I have fond memories of my cousin Phyllis, and I will always carry her in my heart.  She loved my mother and father “Aunt Dot and Uncle Cliff’ and she is now with them in heaven.  I pray Gods comfort for the days ahead.
