Phyllis J. Houchin, 80
July 21, 2016
Phyllis J. Houchin, 80, of Lititz, said her goodbye and started her journey on Heaven’s Highway, Thursday, July 21, 2016. A devout Christian, she was God’s example to everyone while on her Highway to Heaven. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lucille (Kennison) Greathouse and was the widow of Ray C. Houchin, who passed away in 2012.
Phyllis was the loving mother of two children: Curtis Houchin, fiancé of Laurie Weit, of Manheim, and Sonya L. Brenner, of Lititz. They were the light of her life. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Eric and Shawn Houchin, and Alex, husband of Chelsea, Aaron, Amanda, and Alyssa Brenner; and a great-grandson, Caleb Brenner. The memories of fun she had with them, she will take with her, locked in her heart.
She was a member of the Methodist Faith. Phyllis enjoyed writing poetry, watching NASCAR and was a loyal fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and doing crossword puzzles.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing from 12-2PM, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Spacht-Snyder Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 127 S. Broad St., Lititz, PA 17543. Funeral Services for Phyllis will be held at 1PM, Monday, July 25, 2016 at the funeral home. There will be a viewing from 12-1PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Ephrata. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 Market St., Lititz, PA 17543. If you would like to bring a flower, just one rose will do, for she has gone to a City where the flowers are always in bloom.

Dear Curt,
I’m so sorry for your loss. There’s a very special place in all of our hearts for our Moms, even after they pass. Phyllis (aka “Sis”) was such a lovely person and had the sweetest laugh. She was always so kind to me as a kid. My sincerest and deepest condolences to you, Laurie, and all the family. May she rest in peace. Love, Bobbie Ball

What a beautiful picture of Phyllis. She and Ray were in our SS Class at LUMC many years ago. Now they’re together and having a reunion with family and friends. We never lose what our heart has know and loved. Here’s a poem that speaks of Phillys: When you need someone to stand beside you, Mom is near…When you need someone to hear your troubles, She will hear…When you need someone to share your burdens, She will share…When you need to know that someone loves you, Mom is there. by Thomas J. Langley We don’t lose loved ones, we send them on ahead. Praying for God’s peace to surround you All. Pat Startzell, friend
