Patricia A. Wiley, 83
Patricia A. Wiley, 83, formerly of Franklin St., Lancaster, died at Brethren Village on Saturday, March 27, 2010. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Wiley, Jr., who died in 1988.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Carl P. and Marie C. Werhel Gross. Pat graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and then served on the class reunion committee. A homemaker, she was a crossing guard at Franklin St. and Lehigh Ave. for the City of Lancaster for 10 years. She was presented the Crossing Guard of the Year Award.
Pat was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she previously served on the PTO and had been a Cub Scout Leader. She also belonged to TOPS and a swimming exercise class, and she enjoyed pinochle.
Surviving are five children, Thomas P., husband of Kathleen B. Wiley of Mountville, Michael P., husband of Nancy M. Wiley of Cherry Hill, NJ, Patrick F., husband of Carol Wiley of Lancaster, James E., husband of Kathleen M. Wiley of Ephrata and Janet M. Pritchett of Lancaster, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her grandson Stephen Wiley and sister Rita Schiesler preceded Pat in death.
A Viewing will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, from 9:30-11 AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11:30 AM, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, with The Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
