Nancy J. Heller, 89

Nancy J. Heller, 89, died Tuesday, May 20, 2015 at Brethren Village after a lengthy illness.
Formerly of Lancaster, she had been a resident of Brethren Village for 11 years.
Born in Eden, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Guy Heller and Helen C. (Beazley) Heller.
Nancy was affiliated for 44 years with Armstrong World Industries, Inc. in Administrative Services as Supervisor of Corporate Records. She served as official hostess to the wives whose husbands attended meetings sponsored by Armstrong.
She was a charter member of the Pilot Club of Lancaster since 1947, having served two years (1964-66) as Club President. From 1967 to 1969 Nancy served as Lieutenant Governor and Governor for the Northeast Potomac District of Pilot Club International. She was also a past officer of the Circle A Club and a member of the Quarter Century Club.
In 1980, Nancy served as President of the Administrative Management Society and also served as secretary to Area 3 of AMS.
In 1966, she was recognized “Hiker of the Year” by the Lancaster Hiking Club. For 24 years, Nancy was treasurer of Keystone Trails Association as well as a charter member. During the Lancaster Bicentennial, she served as a guide on the city walking tour.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was on the Board of Worship and Music from 1980 to 1992, and was a member of Lancaster Silver Threads. She was a 1943 graduate of Manheim Township High School.
Nancy was the last surviving member of her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Chapel of Brethren Village with the Revs Dana Statler and David Kreider officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at Brethren Village. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
