Mildred K. Labiak, 90

Mildred K. Labiak, 90, of Mountville, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Hospice of Mount Joy. Born in Newport, PA., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Kirkpatrick Latchford. Mildred was the wife of the late William F. Labiak Sr. who died in 1978.

Mildred was a graduate of Geisinger School of Nursing with a registered nursing degree. She was head nurse on Three East floor at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lancaster and retired from the hospital.

An avid Philadelphia Flyers fan, she personally met the whole team. She enjoyed traveling back home to Perry County.

She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.

Surviving are four children; William F. Jr. husband of Karen L. Labiak, Millersville, Michael P. husband of Leslie Labiak, Manheim, George B. husband of Kim Labiak, Mountville, Jane E. wife of Edward Petts, Mount Joy, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Cunningham.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 2427 Marrietta Ave. Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00AM with Rev. Antony Raja as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Tuesday at the church from 10-11:00AM. Please omit flowers.
