Mary Elizabeth “Mary Beth” Mohnach, 44

September 14, 2016

Mary Beth left us peacefully on September 14th 2016 to take on a new assignment. She got an offer she could not refuse. She took a new assignment which takes her loving, joyous, fun spirit and rocking goodness to a place where she will socialize, dance, read, wear great clothes and shoes and rings and things, free of all restrictions. A place where she can “plant her feet, raise her arms, rock and sing” until her heart is content. She is in the company of loving family and friends; free!
Her life here began on May 31st 1972 when she was born to Elizabeth and Alex and brought her sparkling little soul of love and fun to life. She loved life and everything in it. She was always a happy girl!
She discovered music through MTV and Duran Duran at age 9; thus began her lifelong love affair with all things rock n’ roll! She was a virtual encyclopedia of rock and roll music. She loved Jon Bon Jovi, Velvet Revolver, Loaded, Bush, Jackson Brown, and The Dreaming. Her last concert, Guns and Roses, in July was awesome; Duff and Slash, true good medicine for the heart and soul!
She traveled the country to see live rock n’ roll concerts…her passion and joy to be at live shows where the magic is palpable. At any concert, you could find her on the “Rail” which earned her the nick-name, “Mosh-Pit”. She made many new “music friends” who shared her love of rock n’ roll. Special friends sharing a passion, is truly a gift.
High school years in NJ and FL were filled with friendships and experiences that have stood the test of time. Best friend years…these friends still keep in touch. College years were filled with college memories and a formed “group” who “grew up” together and became the fabric of each other lives, friends who know no time.
If you were Mary Beth’s friend, you were a friends for life! She was always interested in what was going on in your life and how you were doing.
From the age of 8 she wanted to be a lawyer. Through hard work and dedication, she accomplished her dream when she graduated from Pace Law School in 2000! She loved being an attorney. The fun in her life was balanced by her dedication to honor and integrity. While never taking herself too seriously, she was serious about her work. Professional friends attest to this and her colleagues all had great respect for her professionally.
She was one of those unique souls who stirred your humanity bringing out the best of human nature with kindness and acceptance, never judging, always helping with enthusiasm for the task at hand.
She loved her family and she will be missed terribly because this family loved her so very much! She was a light that entered the room and the fun at a family affair. Our hearts grieve for her loss, but know her spirit resides in our hearts. She would not want us to be sad.
In addition to her parents Michael and Elizabeth Leach, Mary Beth is survived by her brother John Mohnach of Harrisburg, stepbrother Steven Harlow, Jr. and stepsister Kristen Stone, both of Washington Township, NJ, stepbrother Chris Leach of Santa Monica, CA, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom will be celebrating her life and her birthdays forever; she will always be a part of our lives.
A Celebration of Mary Beth’s Life will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Mary Beth’s interment will be private. Friends are invited to greet her family from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 8th at the funeral home. This gathering of friends and family will be a service conducted by those who come to celebrate Mary Beth, with a story of her life. Please bring a story to read, if you can. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to share your story through an e-mail to her mom: Lizabethleach@gmail.com. Your story can be private or read at her service. She would love that. Her friends and family were diverse. Sharing stories from music friends to family to school and work friends will heal our hearts. I am sure this is what MB would want – to be remembered this way…because her spirit will surely be present!

Mary Beth gave new meaning to Brave, Awesome and Amazing! She is our Hero – a life well lived and Courageous to the end! Mary Beth’s heroic spirit will accompany USMC SGT retired Kirstie Ennis in a heroes’ adventure.

Please omit flowers. Please make a Memorial Contribution in Mary Beth’s name to:
The Heroes Project, 7304 Beverly Blvd., Suite #151, Los Angeles, CA 90036 or to www.theheroesproject.org/donate/ to help USMC SGT retired Kirstie Ennis carry a letter from Mary Beth to the summit of Carstensz Pyramid in New Guinea West Papua.

Mary Beth would enjoy this sunny but cold, windy day in Lancaster area.  Her contagious laughter brightens and calms the atmosphere … have we learned from her how quickly, unexpectedly life on earth culminates?

Mary Beth will be greatly missed by her friends and colleagues at AIG.  We have been talking about her and how much we loved having her around. Remembering her wonderful, outgoing personality and her love of music.   It seems very strange that she was taken from this world so early because she was always so full of life.  We will remember her and keep her spirit with us.  My sincere condolences to her family.

Elizabeth and Michael… Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. MaryBeth and I met in high school and were trainers together. We were good friends, confidants and partners in crime on occasion… Back when before the days of texting we all had notebooks… We passed these between each other before class, between class and after class sharing the latest news, gossip and mysteries around the halls… Lol Boy did we have the best of times!!!  I’m so blessed to have reconnected with her some 16 yrs ago at our 20th high school reunion & finding out she was a successful lawyer!  And then after becoming friends on fb seeing all her ventures of rock concerts and famous meet n greets and up close n personal pics!!!  I am so fortunate to have called your daughter my friend and I pray for peace and strength among you and your family ♥♡♥♡♥♡♥

Oh Elizabeth, I am so very sorry.  I cannot even imagine what you’re going through right now and truly can’t find any words that might comfort you.  But I know your beautiful heart.  I know you are a spiritual person and I know you believe MB is free and in perfect peace!   For that I am so very thankful.
I know I am on the other side of the country but I am here if you need to talk.  I love you my friend and will be praying you and your family can find comfort with eachother and everyone who loved your amazing girl!
