Laura Rose Gordon, 54
Laura Rose Gordon, 54, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County. She was the daughter of the late John Mills Gordon and Georgetta (Johnson) Riddick.
She was born in Portsmouth, VA on August 14, 1954.
Laura was the fiancé of Leon Thompson of Lancaster.
She attended Bright Side Baptist Church.
Laura was the Customer Service Manager for Walmart on Lincoln Highway.
Laura enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her loving family. She was known to always lend a hand to her neighbors, friends, and family.
Surviving in addition to her fiancé, two sons, Jamar Gordon, husband of Jessica T., of Lancaster, Jeffery Gordon, husband of Twyla D., of Lancaster, a daughter Evette Gordon, companion of Darrell, of Lancaster, brothers John Gordon, of Lancaster, Shelton Gordon, of Portsmouth, VA, Albert Gordon, of Nashville, TN, Ronald Gordon, of Portsmouth, VA, sisters Helen Watkins, of Portsmouth, VA, and Alethia Gordon, of Philadelphia, PA, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Gordon and granddaughter Jazmiere Walker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service from Bright Side Baptist Church 515 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 on Wednesday, July 29 at 11am with Rev. Louis Butcher Officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30-11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Laura’s memory to Crispus Attucks, 407 Howard Ave. Lancaster, PA 17602. Arrangements made by Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 717-393-9661. I worked with Laura when she worked third shift at Walmart that’s when I got to know her. She was a beautiful person. I will miss her smiling face. I can’t believe she’s gone. I’ll miss you Miss Laura
