Kenneth B. Wolfe, Jr., 64

Kenneth B. Wolfe Jr., 64, of Warren, PA., passed away following a brave battle with leukemia on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County Essa Flory Center. He was surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Kenneth B. and Edith Wolfe. Kenneth was the husband of Susan L. (Johnson) Wolfe with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage this past June.

Ken graduated from Warren Area High School in 1965, where he excelled in football and track.  He then went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in 1969 at Allegheny College, Meadville, PA.  Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed his career as a social worker at Warren State Hospital and retired after 35 years.  He attended the First United Methodist Church where he and Susan were married on June 20, 1969.

Ken enjoyed long daily walks, golfing and cross country skiing.  He spent priceless time and labors at home and the family island in Sparrow Lake, Ontario, Canada, where he was an avid fisherman.  He cherished his family and the wonderful times spent together.

Surviving in addition to his wife Susan are 2 daughters, Dr. Kimberly Sanchez, wife of Victor, of Landisville, PA., and Alyssa Peterson, wife of Robert, of Mount Joy, PA; three sisters, Barbara Atkin, wife of Don of Matthew, NC; Janet Blaha, wife of Glenn of Central Point, OR; Gloria Morrison of Painted Post, NY; two grandchildren Jack and Kate Sanchez and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 7th at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, PA.  Family and friends will be received in the parlor at 10 AM with an 11 AM service and luncheon to follow.
