Josephine M. Shultz, 90

Josephine M. Shultz, 90, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 in the home of the her daughter and son-in-law with whom she resided for the last twelve years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joel (Joseph) and Mary (Gatavitzka) Gontarz. She was the wife the of late Gerald Shultz who passed in November 1972.

She was a graduate of Kensington All-Girls High School and attended St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She was chosen by the Philadelphia Nature Gas Company as their representative in the Miss Philadelphia Pageant.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. She was a member of the Millersville’s Senior Center at both St. Paul’s Church and the Millersville VFW. She enjoyed reading and embroidery.

Josephine is survived by three children: James G. Shultz husband of Dawn, Lancaster, Kristine M. Herr-Watt wife of Donald S. Watt, Lancaster and Tracy A. Shultz, Lancaster. She is additionally survived by three grandchildren, Eric J. Herr, Malvern, Jonathan D. Shultz, husband of Kristin, Lancaster and Allison Shultz Turner, Lancaster and two great grandchildren, Jackson J. and Ryan G. Turner, Lancaster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster 17601 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends will be received at the Church before the Mass from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverview Burial Park.
