Tina, we have you and your family in our prayers. John was a wonderful man and did so much for the parishioners at St. Mary’s. He will be greatly missed by so many of us, though none of us can truly feel the loss you and your family are experiencing with his his sudden passing. We will always remember him as playing the guitar, serving as a Eucharistic Minister with a big smile, and speaking so earnestly during book study meetings. Thank you for sharing him with us.

I am very saddened to hear about John. I worked with him at MXL some years ago. I’ll always remember his smile and kind, helpful spirit. He was a great person and will be missed by many people in many ways. Please know I will be keeping you in my prayers. All that said I sincerely mean from the bottom of my heart, not just words. In addition….. never feel bad if you just find yourself flat-out, extremely angry at God. It’s OK to do that. love in Christ, Randy Stauffer

To Tina, Lauren, & Dana,
Cammie and I were so saddened to hear of John’s passing.  We fondly recall our times together in Lancaster and in Cursillo, and I especially enjoyed being in group reunion with John for so many prayer filled Saturday mornings at St. Joseph’s.
We are so sorry we couldn’t be there for the visitation or the funeral service, but be assured prayers and palanca are being offered up in Iowa for you and on John’s behalf.

So very sorry to learn of John’s passing. What a lovely man!!  I truly feel blessed having known him. He always would talk about the vacations he was taking , his lovely wife whom he loved so much, or playing the bass guitar. Was always such a joy to have him as a customer at the Barber Shop!  He will be missed greatly. I guess all we can say is God needed a new angel in Heaven.
May God give your family and friends peace in the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Scott Kopp – John’s Barber At Glatfelter’s.

Last time I spoke with John, he was removing the broken basketball net from the church school yard early one Saturday.  Always a happy servant of the Lord, and now he’ll walk beside Him.

May the God of love be with all of you at this time and give you comfort and a peace that passes all understanding.  I knew the Skubon family while we all lived in Hurleyville, NY. John is my former husband, Bobby Kracht’s cousin. I imagine the cousins and some of the Moms are dancing and enjoying being reunited.  .  He’s with God now.  Love and prayers for all of John Skubon’s family.

Tina, I am so very sorry for your loss of John. It is such a shock to hear that he has passed.

They say there was a secret chord that David played, and it pleased the Lord.
Our friend John spent his life in that pursuit, and he did it on so many levels and in so many ways. He lived to the greater glory of God.
Our friend John always greeted me with a smile and a hug. But I wasn’t so special because he greeted everyone that way. It was who he was.
I do not know of a greater disciple. I do not know of a better friend. We were all comforted by the warmth of his love.
I know he precedes us, and before too long he will hug me again, and we’ll smile.
In Christ’s peace,
Steve & Julie

Rough news to hear.  John was a good guy, he and Tina counseled us during our marriage preparations.  They both welcomed us into their homes, both were filled with life stories, always a smile.  I’ve been married about 4 yrs now, so I guess some of John’s advice has paid off.  From both myself and my wife to Tina and the Skubon family, we offer our condolences.  John was truly a great guy to have met.

Tina.
I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know John as well as you, but it was obvious that as you are, he was a devout Catholic devoted to Christ and family. And, although we believe death in this life is transition to eternal life with God, there is still a hole here while we wait to be reunited with love ones in eternal life in heaven. Please accept our (DiCarlo family) deepest sympathy and know that you’re in our prayers. If I can be of help to you in anyway, especially after this initial time when every thing’s a blur and you’re surrounded by family and friends, know you have only to ask.
May Christ’s peace be with you Tina.
Ben
