John J. Ettore, 76

John J. Ettore, 76, of Brethren Village, formerly of Exton, PA passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late John and Helen (Ricupero) Ettore.
John spent most of his early life in the Philadelphia where he owned a record shop in West Philadelphia and was a regular on American Band Stand. He developed a love and passion for ceramics, and owned and operated a ceramic shop in West Chester, PA. After moving to Brethren Village, John was instrumental in starting a ceramic workshop there.
John was a professional skater with the Ice Capades. He was an avid hockey fan and coached the Philadelphia Little Flyers and West Chester University ice hockey teams. He dedicated his life to helping others.
He is survived by his son, John Ettore, husband of Chrissy, of MA, and a daughter, Christie White, wife of William of Lititz. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Brittney and Taylor Ettore, Austin and Alec White, and his companion, Priscilla “Pip” Cumens.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Thursday, December 4th , 2014 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Friends will be received at 6pm and the service will begin at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
