John G. Griffin, 72, of Lancaster passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at Conestoga View. He was born in New York, NY to the late Gerald and Evelyn (Goldsmith) Griffin. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah (Hickey) Griffin.
John worked at WalMart, greeting guests as they arrived. He was a passionate collector of toy trucks and enjoyed steam trains and was a volunteer at Strasburg Railroad. He loved his dog, Hayden.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Deborah Benjamin, of Gap, PA. He is also survived by a granddaughter: Bridget Carter (Gary Carter, Jr.) of New Holland, PA; He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Skylar Carter of New Holland, PA.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Conestoga View, 900 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 in John’s name.

John, you were more of a brother to me than my own brother. For the past 45 years you had been a devoted husband to my sister. You always had a smile & a funny greeting for us. Thank you.
