Joan Simpson Ripley, 84

Joan Simpson Ripley, 84, of Manheim, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on May 31, 2013. She was the wife of Julius H. Ripley for 64 years. Born and raised in Yorkshire Hull, England, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Simpson.

Joan’s family includes her husband Julius, two daughters, Patricia A. “Patty”, wife of Stan Urbaniak of Manheim, and Margaret Patricia, wife of John Donovan of Dunwoody, GA; four grandchildren, Bret Donovan, husband of Sherry, Scot Donovan, husband of Leigh, Kris Donovan, husband of Mandi, and Brieanna Elizabeth Urbaniak; great-grandsons, Callen and Jakob Donovan, and her expected twin great-granddaughters. Her sisters Nora Ripley and Betty Elliot preceded Joan in death.

Joan and Julius lived in Grand Rapids and Saginaw, MI, Stone Mountain, GA, and Navarre, FL, before moving to Manheim 7 years ago. She worked as a bank teller for 2^nd National Bank in Saginaw. Joan was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her four legged family members Pansy, Midget and Abbey. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she enjoyed playing the slots at Biloxi, MS, Las Vegas and Hollywood Casino.

Friends will be received on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 10-11 AM at the Charles F.
