Jere H. Glick, 82

Jere H. Glick, 82, of Lititz, passed away peacefully Monday, April 8, 2013 at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz.

Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Elizabeth E. “Betty” (Gunning) Glick of Lititz, and the son of the late Herbert F. and Mary (Myers) Glick.

He was a member of the 1949 graduating class of McCaskey High School, and was also the pitcher for the St. Joseph Legion Baseball team, winners of the 1949 championship pennant.  He played many sports in his younger years, including baseball, softball, and basketball.  Jere was an avid sports fan, especially Penn State football, Dallas Cowboys, and the LA Dodgers.

He was a US Air Force veteran, serving at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois as a technical instructor.  After his military service, he worked at RCA as an electronics technician for 36 years.

Jere loved his family dearly and was especially proud of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of almost 60 years, he is survived by two daughters:  Patti Lehman and her husband Harry III of Conestoga and Debra Rothermel and her husband Alan of Lititz; a son, Jere T. Glick and his wife Cindy of Breinigsville; five beloved grandchildren:  Christopher, Ryan, Carrie, Ashley, and Caitlyn; and a brother, Terry Glick and his wife Josephine “Jo” of Lititz.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Monday, April 15, 2013 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with Pastor Jerry Berrier officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date.
