Jean T. Snyder, 90

Jean T. Snyder, 90, of Willow Valley, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Darrell P. Snyder, Sr. and Jean A. Olson Snyder.

She graduated from Lansdowne High School in 1940, and Philadelphia College of Bible in 1947. Jean had been an executive secretary for the Main Line division manager of Philadelphia Electric Company for 43 years, retiring in 1985.

Jean was a former member of Grace Chapel of Havertown, where she taught Sunday school, and attended Grace Baptist Chapel of Millersville while living in Willow Valley. She enjoyed traveling, camping in the woods and painting scenes with pastels and oils. A cowgirl at heart she loved the West, horses and dogs.
Surviving are her niece Jeanne M. George, Wallingford, cousins Paul and Mary Jane Olson, Schuylkill Haven, and Dick and Cathy Hodges, Sarasota, FL; great-niece Meredith Haviland and husband Kelly, great-nephews Jeff George and wife Jennifer, and Bob Snyder, great-great-niece Alexis Haviland and great-great-nephews Nate George and Christopher Haviland. Jean was preceded in death by her brother Darrell P. Snyder, Jr., and his wife Florence, and her nephews Robert, Richard and John Snyder.

Graveside Services will take place 11 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2014, Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008, with Rev, Joel K. DeVinney officiating. Please omit flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to America’s Keswick, 601 Route 530, Whiting, NJ 08759-3599.
