Jean M. Richelderfer, 70

Jean M. Richelderfer, 70, of Mountville, PA passed away on Friday, September 06, 2013 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Iva (Schoenberger) Burke. She was the wife of the late Leonard C. “Lenny” Richelderfer who passed away in 2010.

Jean was a hairdresser and owned and operated the former Mane Magic Salon in Lancaster for many years. She loved going to the beach in OCMD where she had a second home. Jean also enjoyed going to casinos and hoping to win big on the slot machines.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lancaster.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Leed, of Mountville, Lori Richelderfer, of Columbia, two step sons and one step daughter; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret “Peg” Miller, wife of Kenneth Miller and a brother, William “Bill” Burke, husband of Rosalyn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St, Lancaster, PA with Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 6-8PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 8PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA. A second viewing will be held from 10-11AM at the church on Wednesday. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jean’s memory to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

We are very sorry to hear about your mom.  We know how difficult it is to lose a loved one.   Our parents are very dear to us and it is a terrible loss.   You have a lot of years of wonderful memories with your mom.  Hopefully that will get you thru this tough time.

Jeannie… words can not express my gratitude for all you have done to make me feel like a part of your family over the last 16 years. You have welcomed me into your home for holidays and other family occasions and I will be forever grateful for that. Jeannie, i will miss your friendship, the years, we spent on the board of chapter 724,
chickie’s rock moose. You and I spent many of hours in the social room, Laugthing and
talking about our children and grandchildren. You and Lenny are now together again.
If there’s a moose in haven. save a seat me.  You will be remembered, for all beautiful
times, You gave to so many. Sue, Lori and Peg. The memory of Jeannie. will live in your
hearts forever. She loves you so much and  she will be watching over you from above.

Jean was a wonderful woman to my mother she cut her hair for a long time up until she could no longer cut it because she told my mother she had to take care of her sick husband.  With all of my mother’s prayers she wishes the family peace and love.
