James M. Stewart, 53
James M. Stewart, 53, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 26th at home.
Born in the Welsh Mountains, he was the son of the late Mary B. Stewart and Charles Green. James and his wife, Willie May Stewart, celebrated their 34th anniversary on August 13th.
He was employed by Burnham as a machine operator and part-time security at C&D Battery.
He was a member of Welsh Mountain Mennonite Church in New Holland.
James was a self-proclaimed bass angler and a big game hunter. He enjoyed walks in the park, sports, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons: James and Tywone Stewart of Lancaster, and Dezi, Corey, and Brandon Ellison of Reading. He is also survived by 6 granddaughters, 2 brothers: Benny and John H. Stewart ; six sisters: Amanda E. Glasco wife of George Glasco, Catherine Thomas wife of Edmond Thomas, Margie C. Marshall wife of Robert Marshall, Dorothy Boots wife of Gerald Boots Sr., Bertha Redmond and Ellen Boots, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Friday at 1PM with a viewing from 1130AM until 1PM. Interment in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers, making contributions in James’ memory to Brightside Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603.
