James Lloyd Stauffer, 83

James Lloyd Stauffer, 83, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy Center.  Born in Neffsville, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Laura (Todd) Stauffer.  Jim was the husband of Ellen Lee (Brown) Stauffer with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Jim graduated in 1947 from Manheim Township High School.  He retired after 23 years of service from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant.  Following his career in the US Air Force, he worked as a manager for 21 years at MG Industries.  He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.  Jim enjoyed deep sea fishing, bowling and golfing.  He played on a bowling league when he was in the military.  Jim loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Ellen, are four children: Mary Ellen Garrett of Lancaster, Edward Lewis Stauffer of Reading, Ritta Getzloff wife of Timothy of Lancaster, Kenneth James Stauffer husband of Robin of Conway, AR and Sweetie, his loving Chihuahua; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Marion Shelly of Lititz, Eleanor Barr of Ephrata, Carl M. Stauffer husband of Joanne of Manheim, Anetta Keith wife of Cliff of Brunnerville and Bernice Kline wife of Ken of Brunnerville.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Ann Osborne officiating.  Family and friends will be received from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jim’s memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or www.hospiceoflancaster.org.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.
