James A. Lentz, 79

James A. “Jim” Lentz, 79, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Hospice of Essa Flory. He was born in Lancaster to the late Frank Lentz and Goldie (Wilson) Lentz Ferry.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel J. (Branch) Lentz.

Jim was an Inspector with Armstrong World Industries for 25 years. He retired in 1994.

He served his country with the US Navy and was stationed in Hawaii at the end of the Korean War servicing airplanes.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, stamp and coin collecting.

Jim was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife, seven step-children, Kenneth Lentz, Denise, wife of Martin Barche, of Omaha, NE, Roberta Russell, of Millersville, Barbara Breneman, of Lancaster, Audrey Taylor, of New Providence, and Donna Breneman, of Tioga County, Robert Westfall, Jr., of Lancaster, Mark Westfall, husband of Tracey, of Kirkwood, twelve step-grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and a handful of extended family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lentz and a sister, Goldie Randall.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Bird In Hand United Methodist Church Cemetery 2620 Old Philadelphia Pike Bird in Hand, PA 17505 at 10am with Military Honors accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
