Jacqueline “Jackie” A. Smith, 47

Jacqueline “Jackie” A. Smith, 47, of Lititz, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of James “Jim” E. Smith for 27 years on October 12th. Born in Media, she was the daughter of Eileen Foley Meyle of Lititz and the late Eugene Meyle.

Jackie graduated from HACC with an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies and then from Central Penn College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She worked as a server and banquet manager for many years. A member of St. James Catholic Church, she was active in the Light of Christ Prayer Group and also a local bible study. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and continuing her education.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are Jackie’s three children, James E. Smith II, Courtney M. Smith and Timothy A. Smith, all of Lititz; and six siblings, Virginia A. Markiewicz of Lititz, Eugene J. Meyle of Missouri, Elizabeth A. Stineman of Lititz, Suzanne E. Scott of Florida, Robert H. Meyle of Florida and Eileen M. Callahan of East Fallowfield

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10 AM Monday, October 15, 2012, at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, PA, with The Rev. James O’Blaney, C.Ss.R. as Celebrant. Viewings will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, with the Rosary Service at 7:45 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, and 9-10 AM on Monday at the church. Interment will be Witness Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1710, New York, NY 10122.
