Hannah J. Fruchtl, 65
Hannah J. Fruchtl, 65, of Lancaster, PA, died at home on Sunday, October 21, 2007 with her family beside her.
She was the wife of Vincent P. Fruchtl, with whom she just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on August 25, 2007.
Born in Mountville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore R. and Susan M. (Meluskey) Williams.
Hannah worked until her illness would no longer allow it. She was the office manager at Gall Laminating for 20 years. Prior to that she worked as a receptionist at Roberts Automotive Service; as a receptionist for Lancaster Newspapers, Inc.; and as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone, Lancaster office.
Hannah was an active member and volunteer of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Joe’s Women’s Club, a volunteer receptionist at the church rectory and was a former member of the Parish Council.
Hannah was also a 20 year volunteer for CROP Walk and was the former chairman of the Arrangements Committee. She and her husband were also known for cooking the 3rd World Meal for the CROP participants following the yearly walk.
Hannah was a 1960 graduate of Hempfield High School. She enjoyed camping, traveling and playing pinochle. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Vincent, are three children: Elaine M. Zeller, companion of Butch Beck of Lancaster; Kevin E. Fruchtl, husband of Eileen J. of Kempton, PA; and Keith M. Fruchtl, husband of Brenda J., of Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren: Jacob, Benjamin and Sarah; three brothers and two sisters: Edward T. Williams, husband of Helen, Ponte Verde, FL; Stanley E. Williams, Rehoboth Beach, DE; Lillian E. Aungst, wife of Ronald; Elizabeth A. Gerlach, wife of Donald; and Ralph R. Williams, companion of Karen of Lancaster, PA. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Vincent Fruchtl; two grandsons, Andrew and Anthony Fruchtl; and a sister, Felicia Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. A second viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment will be at the St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
