There are people who become part of the fabric of your life because they add something that is cherished and treasured.  Bruce was one of those people.  His kindness, honesty, insight and humor brightened my first few years at Hempfield as I was returning to a career in education after a 13 year detour.  His commitment to Hempfield was unwavering, but it was never preempted by his commitment to what was first in the best interest of students. His friendship over the years will be remembered for its compassion, genuineness, and laughter.
Regretfully, Kathy and I will not be able to attend the services since we are in Newport, RI till next Wednesday.  Please know, Lois and Vicki & Tom, that you and your family are in our prayers and that Bruce will be in our heart.

To the wife and family of Bruce Fasnacht and on behalf of the Wissler family I’m sending our deepest sympathy to you during this time of loss.  Bruce was my 9th grade basketball coach and I have been privileged to have stayed in touch with Bruce a little over the years especially after Hempfield basketball games.  May the God of all comfort sooth your pain and loss at this time.  My brother Tim and I will miss the funeral because we both have an out-of-town event to attend. We will both miss Bruce but the memories are sweet.
Tom Wissler.

We send you our deepest sympathy at this time and say that our thoughts have been with your family since we heard of the death of Bruce.

The loss of Bruce comes as a shock to the community he served for so many years. We all had the greatest respect for him and will miss his cheerfulness and lighthearted humor. We admired him greatly. We want you to know that your friends are thinking of the entire family and sympathizing with you in this time of your great loss.

Ralph, Juanita, Nathan and Karen Uerdaz

Uncle Bruce was much loved and will be missed terribly.  We were quite sad to hear of his passing.  I have many fond memories of fishing at the bay and watching Superbowl games with him.  I still use the keychain he gave me for Christmas about 30 years ago.  Sadly, we will not be able to attend the funeral due to work responsibilities in Virginia, but we will be thinking of him and the rest of the family.

At his behest, I am proudly making a donation in his name to the Hempfield Foundation.

Chris and Karen Fegley

To Lois and family of Bruce I send my deepest sympathy. Moving to Lancaster in the early 70’s with two boys I have fond memories of him at the Basketball games at Hempfield where they played.  Many years later again enjoyed his humor and dedication to the games my Grand sons played in at the same High School. As a senior volunteer with Hempfield Senior Volunteer Program I was again  rewarded with his dedication to the school and his upbeat personality.

Fondly,
R.B. Uehlein Mullineaux

Lois:
I was so sorry to hear of your loss upon returning to PA from Florida.  I so enjoyed being with you both while interviewing for the Hempfield Senior Volunteer Program.  He had such a zest for life and the people he met.  My God grant you peace in the coming days.  My prayers are with you and your family,

I was saddened to see the passing of your husband and I wanted to wish you my condolences. I didn’t have him for class at Hempfield but I remember him there and of course I remember you from the 4th grade at Rohrerstown Elementary. So many years have passed since those days, and time goes by ever more quickly as technology progresses. All that is left sometimes are sympathies and condolences, memories from childhood, the friendships we shared and what are teachers taught us. Hoping that it makes us better, compassionate caring people.

Kindest sympathies,
John Palumbo
