Freda Mae Shaub, 90

Freda Mae Shaub, 90, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Quarryville Presbyterian Community after a brief illness. She had resided there for the past 1 ½ years.
Freda was born September 9, 1924 in Lancaster, daughter of the late Chester Clarence Eckman and Sarah Dull Eckman. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Haverstick Shaub, who passed away in September 1987, and by a brother, John Chester (Chet) Eckman. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Denlinger of Brethren Village, Lititz.
Over the years, Freda enjoyed Phillies baseball, college basketball, game shows, dining out, reading the daily newspaper, playing bingo at Quarryville Presbyterian, and hearing news of family. She loved watching the antics of her daughters’ and granddaughters’ feline family members.
Freda graduated from West Lampeter High School and was employed at the former Hamilton Watch Company. Early in her marriage she became a full-time homemaker, raising three daughters who survive her: Debra Mae Sprout, New Providence; Donna Marie Kilgore (Paul D.), Lancaster; Deanna Marlene Rineer (David A.), Lancaster. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Dore Kay Yoder (Jason), Lancaster; and great granddaughter, Lillian Mae Graver, Lancaster. Also a grandson, Paul Kilgore, Jr. great-grandson, Zachary Kilgore, great-granddaughter, Courtney Kilgore, and great-great granddaughter, Delylah Ann Marie Kilgore, all of Elizabethtown, Indiana.
The family would like to thank Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community staff for the kind, loving, compassionate care Freda received during her residency, and most recently during her illness.
A Viewing will take place from 1-2PM with a Funeral Service to follow on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
