Frank L. Schreder, 74
Frank L. Schreder, 74, of Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, and formerly of Lancaster, died Wednesday, 10/12/2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Born and raised in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank X. and Eva Schumm Schreder. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church as a youth with his family.
Frank graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School and cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He then earned a Masters of Theology from Holy Cross College, Catholic University. He worked as a journalist for UPI and ran the English news broadcast for the Austrian Radio. Frank then had a news talk show with WLAN and WLPA/WNCE Radio.
Surviving are two brothers, Frederick J. Schreder of Martinez, CA, and Dr. Richard H. Schreder of Catonsville, MD, and foster brother Bill McGinley of Lancaster. His brother John Schreder preceded Frank in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 AM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with The Rev. Daniel C. Mitzel as Celebrant. The family will receive friends 10-11 AM at the church on Saturday.
