Condolences to the Family

July 11, 2013

Mrs. Funk was my instructor at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.  She was so generous with her sense of humor and practical advice.  She shared an adventure with her students when she kindly volunteered to chaperone a trip to the Poconos and 20 of us jammed into an elevator.  We were way over the weight limit and we were stuck for a while between floors waiting for a rescue.  I can still see Mrs. Funk climbing out of the elevator, but she was a good sport, as always.  She leaves a wonderful legacy as a nurse and as a woman.

I was sorry to learn of Fran’s passing. I have many good memories of our work together at Lancaster General School of Nursing. We also had many good times as friends. I enjoyed seeing her at Oak Leaf Manor in recent years when the AARP Chorus sang there. She lived a good life and will be missed.

On behalf of my family I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to your family on the loss of "Aunt Fran". I have nothing but the fondest memories of many holidays spent with my father, "Uncle Ben, "Aunt Fran" and the cousins. I will never forget her and her wonderful sense of humor. God bless all of you and help you through this difficult time.

Ken and Marcia Miller & Family

Fran was an inspiration to me in my family tree research. I initially used her notes to get started with the Charles family. Even though we were only separated by a few family extensions (My mother and her were cousins) I only had the privledge to meet her once. Although she is gone, her contributions will live on forever.
