Frances Graul

Frances Graul returned to the care of our Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2012, just one week after her 88th birthday.  Her loving husband Chester R. Graul and her sister Josephine Larney Griffin preceded Frances in death.  Her children Michael Graul and Linda Graul Zimmerman and Granddaughter Victoria Yavor and her sister Judith Arnold survive her.  She was the first child of Joseph Larney and Edith Mae Frantz, born in Darby, PA.

She lived in Holmes, PA after she and Chester built their own home on South Avenue in Ridley Township.  She was an active member of Chambers Memorial Presbyterian Church in Rutledge, PA.  Her working career took her to center city Philadelphia at the Presbytery of Philadelphia and then to Wallingford-Swarthmore School District as Director of Personnel, in Wallingford, PA.

Frances, along with her husband moved to Mount Joy, PA in 1987.  They became members of Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster.  Frances volunteered in the office and taught adult education classes.  She also volunteered at Habitat of Lancaster, going to local churches to obtain support for projects.  Frances and Chester moved to Brethren Village 2000.  She was a volunteer in the Library.  Her life long hobbies included camping, swimming, walking, knitting sweaters for gifts and sewing for family and friends.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 14, 2012  from 1000AM to 11AM at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville, Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Ann Osbourne officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland Cemetery, 447 N. Middletown Rd., Media, PA on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11AM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church at the above address. We would like to offer our condolences to your family.  We were neighbors of your parents on Deerfield Drive in Mount Joy.  Frances and Chet were good neighbors.  We enjoyed getting to know them.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bob and Eileen Meckley

Our deepest sympathy in the death of your mother, grandmother and sister.
We remember Frances and Chet so well during their long time membership at  Chambers Memorial Presbyterian Church. Another memory is of women’s circle meetings in their home in Holmes in June, sometimes swimming in their backyard pool.  Frances will be remembered by those who knew her here as a  very friendly person, an excellent church secretary and a fine committed Christian lady.
With kindest thoughts,
Bette and George Alburger

On behalf of the Stephen Ministers of Highland Presbyterian Church, we’d like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Frances.
Many thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time. Please take comfort in knowing that others care.
May you feel God’s peace in your heart and His love in your life.

Sincerely,
The Stephen Ministers of Highland Presbyterian Church

Michael and Linda,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother.  Our deepest sympathy to your family.
