Ethel J. Fisher, 91

January 12, 2014

Ethel J. Fisher, 91, of Lancaster, passed away at her home on January 12, 2014.
Born in East Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Elsie Graybill Kopp. She was married to the late Hubert (Bud) S. Fisher who died in 2005.

Ethel is survived by two daughters: Marlene, wife of Robert Trump and Carol, wife of Robert Buckwalter; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children; Sherrlyn J. Kautz and Don S. Fisher, and one brother John Robert Kopp.

Ethel was a talented artist, photographer, and writer. She spent countless hours creating scrapbooks and writing her life’s story. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels, the Blind Association, and Multiple Sclerosis. She spent her lifetime giving of herself to her family, friends, church, community and those less fortunate than herself.

Ethel was a lifelong member of the Church of the Brethren. She was involved with marking quilts for the ladies aid, teaching Sunday school and Bible school, member of the choir, served many years organizing and making crafts with the youth at youth club, and volunteered at the church office. She shared her artistic talents whenever called upon. One of her most valued memories was painting bible story pictures on the walls in the children’s department at church of which she was recently recognized at an Open House.

She loved to travel, plan wonderful family gatherings and spend quality time with all of her grandchildren. She was a true inspiration to all and exemplified the life of Christ to everyone she encountered. She was an amazing person.

Ethel’s memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange Street, Lititz, PA 17543 with Pastor Steve Hess officiating. Family will receive friends following the service. Interment was at the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. Our thanks and appreciation to the Hospice staff for the loving care and kindness shared with our family during this difficult time.

To the family. Our deepest sympathy. I was the office mgr for Bud late 60’s early 70’s. and got to know Ethel  she was a very nice person and fantastic artist  I always remember her one painting that hung in our office I called it the clown philosopher she laughed at that  I would visit she and Bud prior to his death and continued after. And she would always show me more of her artwork Such a creative person. She was a good good person. Our thoughts are with you Gail and Jen Smith
