Mrs Hubbs-Smith meant a lot to me, as she was my Godmother. She was, for many years, my Grandmother’s (Beulah Reed’s) next door neighbor and dear friend. I remember a warm, welcoming person when I recall childhood visits to her house. I have wonderful memories of Mrs Hubbs-Smith attending my wedding. (My father-in-law was so pleased to find out that she was Italian!) When my daughter Alyssa was born, my Mom and I brought her to see Mrs Hubbs, while she lived on Liberty St. Always dear, loving and gracious, Elizabeth J. Hubbs Smith will live on in the many who knew her.

Her Loving Goddaughter,

Jennifer (Reed) DeSimone

What a lovely and good and moreover a longtime friend I lost. Betty, as I always knew her, was a gem to be around. She voluntered at the church office where I work since 1970 and assisted Lucy on the Funeral Committee many years ago. A friend to all, Betty was always well liked by the pastors of the parrish. Her quietness and humble nature made her very lovable. Betty and I and some other friends went to Bingo, out to lunch, or she invited me to her home for her homemade crabcakes. Delicious. So many fun memories of Betty, and May she Rest in Peace in the Arms of the Lord, and remember Paul dying on April 17, and Betty in April now also. Paul and Harry will be greeting her and know she brought happines to the both of them. May the Peace of the Lord be with all of you and this includes her stepfamily as well. She was proud to be part of both families. A friend who cared/loved her.
