Elizabeth H. Bodnar, 92

April 03, 2014

Elizabeth H. Bodnar, 92, of Lititz, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Moravian Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.

Mrs. Bodnar was the daughter of the late Nicholas & Millie (Heater) Kirsch of Youngstown, Ohio. A long-time resident of Youngstown, Elizabeth graduated from East High School. She was a welder during World War II where she welded treads for our military’s tanks. Later, she worked in the Pharmacy Departments of both Southside and Northside hospitals in Youngstown. When she was young, Elizabeth loved to dance, which is where she met her late husband, Nicholas Bodnar.

Elizabeth moved to Lititz in 1999 where she lived with her daughter, Martha and her late son-in-law, Anthony Barber, until moving into Moravian Manor last summer.

A member of St. James Catholic Church in Lititz, Mrs. Bodnar will be remembered by her grandchildren, Julie Batson of Clover, SC, Joseph Barber of Estacada, OR, Larry Bodnar, Terry Bodnar and April Sabanick all of Youngstown, OH, for her love of dancing polkas, giant hugs, her strong faith in God, and for her love of watching “The Price is Right”.

Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas and John, as well as her son, Jack Reveland. In addition to her daughter and grandchildren, Mrs. Bodnar is survived by her step-son, Lawrence Bodnar of Youngstown, OH, and five great-grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Mason and Emerson Batson and Abigail Barber.

Mrs. Bodnar’s life was celebrated in a private ceremony at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home in Lititz. A Memorial Service will be held in July when all of the family are able to be together. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Elizabeth’s name to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz, PA 17543.
