Edward H. Sylvainus, 83
Edward H. Sylvainus, 83, of Lititz, PA passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Slate Belt Nursing & Rehab Center in Bangor, PA. Born in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Mathias and Thelma (Chestworth) Sylvainus.
Ed proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed aboard the USS Bairoko. He retired as an electrical engineer. After retirement, he worked as the night manager at the Gate House for Men in Lititz for 15 years.
He is survived by his 2 sons: Scott, wife of Wendy Sylvainus of Nazareth, PA, Todd Sylvainus of Wildwood, MO, a sister, Elizabeth Cunningham of Sarasota, FL and 4 grandchildren: Scott T., Shawn, Alexa and Tyler.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:30PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Sunday, October 21, 2012. Family and friends will be received from 1:30-2:30PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Interment will be at 9AM on Monday, October 22, 2012 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ed’s memory to the Angel Fund at the Men’s Gate House, 649 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543. Rest in Peace Grandpa. I’m so sorry I can’t be there tomorrow for you, but you know how busy I am at school. I know you were super proud of how well I’m doing at school. I will continue to work hard and I will get a 4.0 for you this semester. I hope you continue to cheer for our Orangeman. Love you.
