Doris E. (Smith) Mease, 77

Doris E. (Smith) Mease, 77, of Hopeland, PA, passed away on December 21, 2016 at Lancashire Hall with her family by her side. Born December 3, 1939 and raised in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Claude & Pearl (Hicks) Smith. Doris was the loving wife of James P. Mease, to whom she was married 50 years this past July.
She was a 1958 graduate of Ephrata High School. Doris enjoyed sewing and worked at several companies making various items. She retired as a housekeeper from Brethren Village. She loved to bake, go camping, flower gardening, bird watching and traveling to Florida. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially Alexa who she & Jim helped to raise.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Jim, are sons: Christopher & Scott Mease; daughter, Michele Willis; granddaughter, Alexa Willis; grandson, Trenten Mease; and a sister, Virginia “Ginny” Kuhn.
She was preceded in death by siblings: George & Robert Smith, and Lois Kline.
A Committal Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 6, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
