Donald R. Copeland, 84

Donald R. Copeland, 84, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Victor, Montana, he was the son of the late Hubert Glenn and Anna (Olson) Copeland. Don’s wife of 56 years Betty J. Brown Copeland died in 2010.
Don served in the US Air Force for almost 24 years both stateside and in numerous countries during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1971. He then worked for Burns Security at Armstrong World Industries, next in the Recorder of Deeds office at Lancaster City Courthouse and lastly as a proofreader for Donnelly Printing. Don was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Lancaster and he was an avid reader.
Surviving Don are his 2 children: Donna M. Copeland and Donald R. Copeland, Jr., both of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren: Christine Bailey, Donald R. Copeland III, Keith R. Copeland and Kevin G. Copeland; 7 great-grandchildren: Dominick, Brandon, Austin, Devin, Morgan, Ava and Caleb; and his brother Larry Copeland and sister Ruby Lee Kasman, both of Helena, MT.
Graveside services with Military Honors in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery will be private. Please omit flowers. Contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P. O.
