Dennis W. Reed, 59

Dennis W. Reed, 59, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006 at his residence.

He was the husband of Betty L. Siry Reed, with whom he celebrated 23 years of marriage this past June 25^th. Born in Altoona, Dennis was the son of the late Raymond and Naomi Helsel Reed.

He was a service technician for Sheaffer Office Products Inc. or Lancaster for the past 2 years.

A career United States Air Force veteran, Dennis served with distinction from 1964 until 1984, retiring as a Master Sgt. During his service, he was the recipient of the Air Force Longevity Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the USAF Outstanding Unit Award with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the USAF Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.

He loved to play golf, and enjoyed spending time with his dog, Charlie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Jennifer L.  married to Brian Sheaffer of Lancaster, and Kimberly L. Reed of Maryland; a son, Jason J. Reed of Lancaster, and by three grandchildren: Joshua and Reed Sheaffer, and Meaghan Reed. He is also survived by a sister, Sherry married to John Turchetta of Altoona. He was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Reed.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 1PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the funeral service to follow at 1PM.
