David Eugene Roth (Roscoe), 71, of Lancaster died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at LGH. Born in Lancaster and raised in Lititz, PA he was the son of the late Amos Eugene and Jean Elizabeth Roth. He was married to Janet M. (Grasser) for 30 years. Mr. Roth retired from the Safe Harbor Water Power Corp. Administrative services finance and accounting in 2002 after 38 years of service.
He was a 1961 graduate of Warwick High School and a 1965 graduate of Elizabethtown College. He served in the U.S. Army 34th Signal Corp from 1968-1970 in Ansbach, Germany.
David was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Millersville VFW Post 7294 and the Lancaster American Legion Post 34.
David enjoyed gardening, bowling, collecting quilts and coins, traveling, spending time with his poodles, Belle and Bebe, and going to his home away from home in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
In addition to his wife Janet survivors include a sister, Brenda Fiorill, wife of Michael G. of Lititz, also two nieces and four nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, 223 W. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Rev. Margaret Kassees officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers contributions in David’s memory may be made to St. John Lutheran Church at the above address or the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA17602.
