Daniel V. Eddy, 35

March 25, 2016

Daniel V. Eddy, 35, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on Friday, March 25, 2016. Born in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of Mary (Hauber) Eddy and the late David A. Eddy.
Known as the “Gentle Giant,” Daniel was of the Catholic Faith and had a deep love for his mother and aunts. After moving to Lancaster from upstate Pennsylvania, Daniel enjoyed his new-found freedom and loved exploring Lancaster. Always with a smile, Daniel loved to help others. He was an avid reader of science fiction, enjoyed all types of music, collected comic books and baseball cards, and enjoyed spending time playing video games.
In addition to his mother, Mary, Daniel is survived by his aunts, Dorothy and Patricia Hauber, both of Harleysville, and his Honorary Aunt, Jacqueline Scully-Clark, of New Jersey. He is also survived by his paternal aunts, uncles, and cousins.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Daniel’s name may be made to Water Street Ministries, 210 South Prince St., Lancaster, PA 17603.

Dear Dot & Patty,  I am very sorry for your loss.  One of my nephews died 2 1/2 years ago from a heroin overdose.  It’s a hard thing to accept when a younger family member dies.  Sincerely,  Kay Kunkel

Dan was an awesome guy who was always laughing and joking around bringing joy to everyone. He was one of the first people i met during training at work and he made me feel welcome right away and he was already joking around with me making me laugh from the first time we met.  I always looked forward to the last half hour of work when Dan was there because he was always joking around with everyone and singing along to the music and bringing a smile to everyones face. Whenever I went in the break room and he was already there I always knew what television show he would have on and we would enjoy watching it together and he would always be joking about it and making me laugh and everytime I see it I will think of Dan and the great joy that he brought to my life. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.  He was one of those guys that everyone wants to be around and you looked forward to every moment you got to spend with him. every moment you spent with him he had you laughing and  brought joy to your life.  I couldn’t believe it when i first heard it because he was always full of life.  We were all deeply upset to hear of his death at work and didn’t want to believe it. Dan will be missed by all and we all loved him and will miss him deeply.  He was amazing and I still can’t believe he is gone I wish he was still here with us.
I’m sorry for your loss he will be greatly missed.

Mary,
So saddened to hear of your son’s passing.  Although I didn’t get to know him,  I know what a wonderful son he was to you and his family.  Think of you often as I drive past your home where you lived before moving to Lancaster and the time we spent doing our “Red Cross thing”.  My heart and prayers,  Gail Overfield
