Catherine M. Lombardo, 94
Catherine M. Lombardo, 94, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2011 at Hamilton Arms. She was born in Lancaster to the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Sinopoli) Martello.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lombardo, in 2001. They were married on April 24, 1937 at Historic St. Mary’s.
She was a homemaker.
Catherine was a longtime member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
She was a member of the Lancaster Rec Commission – Happy Hours Club and enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Theresa M., wife of Raymond Schwartz, of Lancaster, a son, James J. Lombardo, husband of Karen J., of Lititz, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Carello, and Elizabeth Carello, and two brothers, James and Joseph Martello.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church 929 North Duke Street Lancaster, PA 17602 with The Rev. John Acri as Celebrant. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike on Thursday morning from 9:15-10:15. Final Commendation and Farewell will be held in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 3544 N.
