December 15, 2014

Carol Anne (White) Fridinger peacefully left this life on December 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She fought a valiant battle with cancer for over a year-and-a-half. She celebrated her 64th birthday on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
Carol was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Edwin and Melva (Hubley) White. She graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1968. Carol began working at Millersville State College in January, 1969 as a secretary in the foreign language department. Years later, she transferred to the women’s athletics department where she worked for the remainder of her career. Her friends and colleagues from Millersville were her extended family.
Carol married Charles Fridinger, Jr. on July 17, 1971. They resided in Lancaster, PA for most of their married life with the exception of one year when they lived on an Air Force base in Missouri. In addition to Charlie, Carol is survived by two daughters, Lisa Burke (Lititz, PA) and Erica Zambanini (Winchester, VA), one son, Brad Fridinger (Lititz, PA), two sons-in-law, Andy Burke and Adam Zambanini, and three adored grandchildren Cooper Charles Burke (3), Kyla Meridian Zambanini (5), and Ella Grace Zambanini (3). She was welcomed in Heaven by her grandchildren Logan Zambanini and Baby Burke.
Carol’s greatest passion in life was her family. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy! Grandma Carol/Gram enjoyed baking with Kyla and Ella and watching Frosty the Snowman with Cooper. She loved her golden retrievers, Hunter who is with her in Heaven and Tanner who is comforting Charlie. Her other passions were scrapbooking, shopping, reading and watching Hallmark movies. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family. She was the center of her family’s world and was happiest when everyone was together. She will de dearly missed.

Carol and I worked together at Donnelley Printing back in the early ’70’s and were good friends.  I heard so much about Charlie, who was still in the service.  Charlie probably won’t remember me but we two couples would get together, occasionally and spent the 4th of July together, watching the fireworks in Lititz.  I have very fond memories of Carol.  She was a very sweet lady!
