Brad A. Roda, 56, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Benjamin A. Roda and the late E. Carlene (Gilbert) Roda. He was the loving husband of Denise K. (Overly) Roda.

He was a 1977 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. During his high school career he was named to the Lancaster/Lebanon All Star Football Team. He went on to attend Bloomsburg University.

Brad enjoyed cycling, golf, and was a competitive athlete. In addition to sports, he loved to travel. He, his wife and daughter enjoyed a vacation in Italy in 2011. He also spent many summer vacations with family in Avalon, Stone Harbor, Ocean City, MD and the Outer Banks. He treasured time spent with his friends, high school buddies, and family, especially his daughter, nieces and nephews.

As a football and basketball sports enthusiast, you could always find him in the stands at many of his nephews’ LCHS basketball games.

He was goal oriented and never backed down from a challenge in his personal life or his work life. In the past 2 ½ years his illness became his greatest challenge, however he never let it affect his positive spirit.

He was a loving devoted husband and father.

I was very sorry to read abour Brads’ death. It seems like just yeterday Brad was playing QB for me at St. Joe. I really want to be at the funeral tomorrow but it has become impossible. I am recovering from surgery and am living at a rehab center in Lititz.  I have attempted to find someone who could drive me to Church on Monday but I was not successful.  I will keep Brad and your family in my prayers.
