I would like to extend my condolences to the family and to mention that I worked with Greg Sahd years ago in the Lancaster County Court Administration office. I recently met your mother when I visited the Senior Center in Columbia.  In my role as Community Relations Representative for Hospice of Lancaster County I visit each senior center yearly and provide some kind of related program.  I remember each time I would visit Columbia your mother was dressed so nice and had the most beautiful smile on her face.  She talked openly about her wonderful children and when I told her I had worked with Greg years earlier she was delighted.  What a beautiful lady, both outwardly and inwardly. I know that she will be missed by all she came in contact with.
Fondly ~ Joan Groh

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Sahd family with the passing of their beloved mother/aunt/grandmother.

We had only met her once but even in that one encounter it was clear to see that she was a woman of strength, faith, love and devotion. Her testimony lives on in her children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren as each carries on her tradition of love, as well as kindness and respect.

Though death ends a life…it does not end a relationship… she will always be your loving mom/aunt/grand mom and, as she smiles upon you, she will always love you just as you will always love her.

A blessed angel on earth has now become
A Blessed Angel in Heaven…

Our prayers and sympathies are with you…

In  a world where the words ‘mother-in-law’ are often included in a joke or a complaint, I was exceptionally blessed to have Barbara as mine. She was never ‘Barbara’ to me, but a second mother. She always accepted me for who I was and never had a critical word for me. She was always there when I needed a helping hand, even babysitting while she still had a house full of her own children! She was an exceptional lady who gave so much love to our world. Her home was always a warm & welcoming refuge from the problems of the world and her meals were legendary!! Food was love to Mom & she gave lots of it. We’ll never forget her & she’ll live on as long as we remember. God speed, Mom.
Mary Lou

We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Brian, Pete, Greg and the entire Sahd family. She was a special woman, kind and caring, who always saw the good in everyone and everything. I honestly don’t recall her raising her voice even once. I have many fond memories of her and the family at your home in Columbia and will always remember what a wonderful cook she was. Take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Joe, and in the presence our Heavenly Father.

I would like to send my condolences to Patti Litwin and her entire family on the loss of their mother. Patti has been an amazing friend to me and I know that she learned that from her wonderful mother. I was fortunate enough to visit with Barbara on several occasions. My mother and I had the pleasure of ringing in the New Year with her this past year. She was always so sweet and positive. One time when Patti and I were walking around the high school track for exercise, Barbara was sitting on the bleachers cheering us on! I am certain that she is now up in Heaven cheering her children and grandchildren on. I know your loss is great, but Heaven has gained an Angel.

Prayers and condolences,
Lisa Lynch and family

Please accept my heart felt condolences for your loss. Remember that a mother’s love is never lost but always remains in your heart.

Sincerely,
The Stetler Family

To my ten cousins who lost their mother, and to my mother and my two aunts who lost a sister:  Aunt Barbara was a special person.  She was dedicated to her children, her husband, and her religion.  She made the world a better place.

I cannot fathom the amount of hard work she had to put into raising her ten children and how it would have broken down a lesser person.  But Aunt Barb prepared every meal with love.  And she must have done something right, because you all came back for family meals years after you moved out.

There is a special place in my heart for my Aunt Barbara.  I looked forward to seeing her at family reunions, and I loved receiving e-mails from her.  She was a kind and a caring person.  And now God has called her home.  She is in a better place.
