Anne Marie Hagan, 66

July 25, 2015

Anne Marie Hagan, 66, of Lititz, PA, passed away peacefully at Mt. Joy Hospice Center on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 8:40 am.
She was born on August 26, 1948, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Joseph Leo Hagan and Gene-vieve Freas Hagan, both deceased.
Anne was the wife of Sener Millo (Mike) Herr. They were together for 45 years.
Oldest of seven siblings, she is survived by brothers Patrick, Phillip, and Richard, and sisters Michelle and Mary Beth, and was preceded in death by her brother Joe.
She grew up in Morrisville, PA, and attended Bishop Conwell High School in Levittown, PA, then graduated from Penn State with a BA degree in Anthropology. After graduation, she resided in State College, where she met her husband. Later, they moved to Ephrata, and then to Lititz.
Anne loved to read, and was fond of mysteries and biographies. Her day started with a crossword puzzle; her pencils sharpened to tiny nubs. She was an excellent cook and skilled at baking, and she loved sharing with neighbors and friends. Fond of flowers, she always took pride in her beautiful gardens. She kept orchids and other houseplants. She was a huge Bob Dylan fan.
She started her career as a proofreader, and worked at various jobs in the typesetting, pub-lishing, and graphic arts industries. She made many lifelong friends in her various jobs.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution to the charity of your choice. Anne supported Warwick Community Ambulance, Lititz Library, Water Street Rescue Mission, and Central PA Food Bank.
No public service will be held. A memorial service will be held in the future.

Anne embodied the best of what it means to be human: keen intelligence, wide-ranging interest in the world around her, true compassion without sentimentality, unassuming generosity. I am honored to have been included in her circle of friends, and I will miss her for the rest of my days.
